Facility Audits

The design and construction of a facility is not an easy or simplistic task, but rather a complex coordination of systems and entities aspiring for a common goal. After the turnover and occupancy of a building, the process of properly operating and maintaining that capital investment becomes a large responsibility for owners, tenants, and service providers.

Whether it is immediately upon occupying a new building or after several years of use, the Sustainable Building Solutions team is well regarded for their ability to audit and assess a building with or without as-built documents to ascertain its operational characteristics.

Focusing primarily on the building’s envelope (façade, roof) and lifeblood mechanical and electrical systems, SBS will develop a series of recommendations based on observations conducted from a facility walkthrough and a review of the building’s critical energy use data. While this facility audit is really only a first step toward greater sustainability, it serves as an important benchmarking tool for our clients to make the most informed decisions possible when they plan for both immediate and long term improvements.

The report that Sustainable Building Solutions generates will detail the available means and methods, corresponding costs and return on investment/payback analyses for each strategy as well as provide the option to proceed with procurement and facility upgrades for the client. Each phase of the process is available as an independent service or complete design/build turnkey proposal.
