JCI Parking Deck
5757 N. Green Bay Avenue Glendale, WI 53209
Role: LEED Consultant to CM Size: 419 stalls / 38,171 s.f. Completion Date: 2009 Summary: LEED Rating: LEED-NC Platinum Goal
The Johnson Controls Glendale Campus 4-tier Parking Deck will be submitted for LEED-NC Platinum certification from the USGBC. The 419 stall deck consists of 38,171 sf of Ground Level, 38,845 sf on both Levels 2 and 3, and 34,370 sf of Level 4 parking space. In total the deck will provide 150,231 sf of employee parking. The structure was designed to accommodate future expansion by an additional 2 floors. The unique green features of the deck include hookups for “plug and drive” electric vehicles.
The Parking Deck and surrounding buildings will be nestled within 13 acres of native prairie vegetation with a diverse mix of native plants to support local wildlife and the natural wetlands will be restored. Non-native species will also be removed from the landscape.
In addition, nearly 3 acres of existing parking lot will be resurfaced with permeable pavers, allowing rain and snowmelt to filter through the pavers and then gravel base and soil recharging the local aquifer and bypassing the municipal stormwater system.
The Campus Expansion as a whole has already diverted over 89% of the construction and demolition waste from the landfill.
